My Story

Hi, I'm Sophie — teacher, and the person behind Sherbert Learning.

I've taught elementary for over ten years, and one moment sums up why I make what I make.

​

I'd given my Year 4 class a project — designing their own board games — and I used it as their reward. Work hard, show great behaviour through the day, and you'd earn time to keep building your game. It became the first thing they looked for on the timetable every morning. They begged for it.

​

But here's the part I loved: while they were deep in it — designing rules, testing ideas, arguing over what made a game fun — they had no idea how much they were actually learning. They weren't thinking about skills. They were just building, problem-solving, and bursting with pride over what they'd made. The learning had become the reward.

 

That's the whole idea behind Sherbert Learning: project-based learning that kids beg to do — where the skills are hiding inside the fun. Not busywork, not filler. Real experiences that give students a reason to think, create, and care.

Every project I make is one I've designed as a teacher who actually runs these lessons with a real class. Each comes ready to teach — presentation slides, printable student activities, and a complete teacher guide — so you can open it, project it, and go. No hours of prep. Just the good part: watching your class light up.

I make these because I believe the best learning doesn't feel like work — it feels like something kids can't wait to do.
